Kelly, Hi, I am Lori Kruit! I am a friend of Kari's from soccer. We have been home 1 month yesterday with our newest daughter. I am so excited for you! Your trip will be amazing and yet difficult with all the different emotions that will hit you! I'm in tears just writing because all of those memories are so fresh in my mind. We loved China and the people. We can't wait to go back when our little Mikenna is old enough to appreciate the trip. (We are not too anxious to get on a plane again for 14 hours any time soon). Anyway, The novotel hotel in Beijing is very nice. They serve an American breakfast. Don't try the McDonalds in Beijing-YUK! Make sure you go down to 'snack lane' at night and see the vendors. Our daughter came from a different province so I can't tell you what to expect. In Guangzhou, the White Swan is very modern. Full of adopting parents and families. The food again tastes great! We also went thru Holt and they were wonderful every step of the way! I will be praying for your trip that your little one will adjust and bond quickly to both of you. Our Mikenna has made so much progress in 5 1/2 weeks. She still has not really bonded to my husband, but she lets him in a little more each day. We know that it will come when she decides to trust! God will allow her to love him when her heart is ready! God bless your trip and I will be following your blog and praying for you! Lori

I'm sure that Hope will warm up to everyone eventually, it's just too much to expect in such a short time. Give our love to everyone. We think Hope will be such a great blessing to your family.
