Hey Everyone,

Here are pictures of the Forbidden City that we did not get to send last week. The Forbidden City is where the Emporer's lived with there concubines. There were so many rooms in the palace compound that if a child was born and stayed in a different room every night it would take until he was 27 years old to sleep in all the rooms. Its HUGE!

The Emporer's always had 3,000 concubines. Each one had a number. Every night the emporer would pick a piece of wood with a number on it and that would decide which concubine he would spend the night with. Half way through the guided tour Thomas raised his hand and asked what a concubine was. Everyone laughed. I told him we would have a talk later. Once I told him he understood right away. He said, "Like Esther in the Bible right." The kids smart.
