This is the "other" wall in China. This is the Xi'an City wall that was actually built before the Great Wall. It was built during the Ming Dynasty in 1368AD and is the most preserved wall in China. It completely encompasses the original city limits of Xi'an in a big square and it is 9 miles around the border. You can actually walk on top of the wall all the way around but it takes 3 1/2 hours. This is the cradle of Chinese civilization. They say that Xi'an is the roots and the trunk of China's civilization and Beijing is just a leaf.The local people are very proud of their history. Hope has a really neat culture and a proud heritage. We are blessed to be able to experience her homeland!
