Hello Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been able to write yet. But we have done two weeks worth of things in a matter of three days! And we lost a day because of travel. Not only did we fly from Chicago to Beijing which is exhuasting just by itself, but the next day we went to the Great Wall of China at 8:30 am and hiked around all day and today we went to Tianamin Square and the Forbidden City! Woo! We can't believe we are in China! We are actually here and going to get Hope tomorrow afternoon! Please pray for us and Hope. She is going to be so frightened and sad. Please pray for the transition for her and that she will know how much we love her and care for her and that she can trust us, her new forever family!
We are getting used to the time change... we wake up at 5am now instead of 2am so thats a huge improvement. Cris only got 3 hours of sleep the first 48 hours. He was a real trooper though and never complained about being tired.
Well enough on the lack of sleep. God is just getting us ready for the change we are about to go through with having a new daughter that is 2 years old and grieving the absence of her foster mother, her homeland, and familiar sights, sounds, tastes and smells to a new family that looks funny, sounds funny and talks funny! Poor thing!
She is in for a big shock tomorrow when she is in our arms and is our new little girl. We have a 8:30 am flight out of Beijing in the morning and we will arrive 2 hours later and head to Xi'an city, in Shaanxi Province where we will meet our daughter and have her with us at 3:00 in the after noon. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
I better get to bed now, since I have to get a wake up call at 4:30 in the morning.
I will definately try my best to post tomorrow and upload all the wonderful pictures of our daughters homeland that we have had the wonderful priviledge of getting to see.
Love you all!
Kelly
Good night from Beijing

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and pesce in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. - Romans 15:13
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you everyday. It's so fun to track your journey on this blog. We can't wait to see your pics.
Happy Mother's Day!
Craig, Camille, Jonathan, Micah, and Hannah
Kelly, I am so excited for you! Tomorrow will be exhausting yet wonderful to finally hold your precious Hope. Right now I am holding our little Mikenna as she sleeps. What a great way to spend your Mother's Day 2009! Cherish each day in China because it will really fly by quickly. God blessings, Lori Kruit
ReplyDeleteCris,
ReplyDeleteJR, RC, and your staff and volunteers did a FANTASTIC job at the tournament!
The average participant/family was unaware of the many challenges going on behind the scenes to pull off an excellent event. I was only there for two hours, but the event was running very smoothly from my perspective.
There were some lines at the physicians tent. Most were patient, some not. The two guys in suits just sat at the table and talked to each other. All the extra stuff seemed to be so unnecessay, but your team carried everything out and served the hundreds of competitors.
You should be very proud of how your hard work is paying off at NK.
I can't believe you guys are actually in China picking up your little girl. How cool! Enjoy your family time and all your incredible experiences.
God is good.
Craig
Hello Nelson Family,
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for you to finally meet Hope. We will pray for her during the transition, especially for the peace of God to surround her beyond all understanding!
I just got home from the torunament where I spent most of the day behind the sparring check in table. From my perspective it went really well. 98% of the parents were completely understanding. I also spent some time with some of the "suits" at the end of the day and they were very impressed with the organization and how well things were going. Your staff did a wonderful job just like Craig said you have trained them well. I hope this will put your mind at ease some until you speak to JR and RC. John Bredal and I have lots of ideas that will make the line situation go faster next time. I was very choleric today just for you Master Nelson!
We miss you all and can not wait to see you!
May God bless the transition and the rest of your travel home! We love you and thank God for each of you!
Have FUN,
Michelle Ridens
Just one more thing I wanted to let you know about.......Precious pregnant Natalie spent the entire day 8 am to 3 pm in the ladies room taking care of the pregnancy testing. She did it with a joyful heart and a servants attitude. We even had time to play a joke on Kevin with her test! LOL! Just another example of how much you are loved!
